Who, What, Why?...
We opened in 2019 and we have been having lots of fun creating lots of fun flavours so far.
We focus on having lots of local ingredients in our product from local Irish milk to locally baked bread to Achill Island Seasalt.
We want to take advantage of what is on our doorstep.
Krem Gelateria & Cafe was founded in 2019, in Westport Co. Mayo by a multi award winning fourth generation gelato and pastry chef, Graham Byrne.
“It all started with my great grandmother back in the 1930s, who started making ice cream in our beautiful little village. The skill and tradition was passed down through the generations."
After learning the basics in the family business, Graham started traveling the World learning about the flavour experience of other cultures, working with other passionate and accomplished chefs, where he honed his skills. It was on his travels where he achieved 14 awards for Gelato and Sorbet.
After returning home and settling in Westport it was time to put all those skills and experiences to good use.
Thats when Krēm Gelateria and Cafe was born.
